“I dream my painting and I paint my dream.”

- Vincent van Gogh

Painting is a gift that has given me unrestricted freedom to dissolve into the complexities of nature as I explore the relationship between colour, light and movement. The study of a single creamy hydrangea exposes all the subtleties and strengths of nature. A snowy hydrangea is alive and bursting with a palate of limes, mosses, teals, blushes and plums. Nature is such a simple complexity.

Flowers are an integral part of our lives. Without the vibrancy of flowers, the world would be a monochromatic green. Flowers are not merely artfully beautiful; they are essential in the balance of nature. I paint impressionist floralscapes to reflect the power of flowers, both physical and emotional. A single bloom can evoke a bouquet filled with joy, gratitude, passion, love, peace, hope, and even purity.

My uninhibited use of colour, movement and bold, strong brushstrokes reflects all that the floral world represents. My multilayered canvasses invite my audience to get close, touch the work, and experience the life that is moving and ever changing within this simple frame.

My studio is a haven of inspiration and calm that allows me to disappear into my work. Each blank canvas calls me to create a painting that in turn allows me to share my inspirational journey with my audience.

“I am following nature without being able to grasp her. I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers.”

- Claude Monet
